It is the napping hour at the Kalinowski house and the time during which I would have been using facebook. Alas, I am fasting from it.
I have been reading other people’s posts about abstaining from facebook. They write that they have got back 13 hours of their life back every week and how great it is.
My question is, are they really using those 13 hours for something more laudable. Are they watching TV? Are they reading a book? Are they having sex with their friend’s husband/wife?

How do we value our activities? I argue that any activity we engage in that involves connecting with others in a positive way (and that does not involve duplicity) is better than any other. Facebook does have high value. Time on facebook is time interacting with friends and family. Even time spent with strangers or acquaintances is time better spent than... something else you might be able to think of (no arguing with that!).
So, everything has its place , including facebook.
