2/3 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
3 cups flour
2 tsps. Baking powder
1/3 cup milk
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp vanilla
In a separate bowl combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
In a mixing bowl:
Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs. Alternate milk and flour. Add vanilla. Mix completely. Chill, roll, and cut using flour to diminish sticking.
Cook at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Cookies should have a faint golden brown color and be firm in the middle. Except if you want them done right then cook until they are really brown and hard!
Cool and decorate.
