breakfast with an angel

December 23, 2008
The angel, of course, was Abby. She is the best behaved almost two year old I have ever met!

Katie, Alex, Abby, Joel and I got together for a delicious breakfast at which we were waiting on by prepubescent boys. They brought our food to the table and refilled our drinks religiously.

After breakfast the boys made an angel tree ornament and had their picture taken with an angel.

Then we proceeded outside to see the nativity scene.... Mary, Joseph, Jesus, the three kings and animals out in the snow.

The camel looked rather peeved.

Katie and I are going to try and bring the kids as many time as we can until the boys start protesting.

Already they would not wear the halo they were given, but Abby was more than happy.

I just can't understand it!

WE count we vote!

We count... we vote

Joel counted the signs, read the letters and named the colors. If he had been voting he would have chosen the candidates with green signs because he liked the color and layout best.

Not many people there. Aaron said it was packed first thing in the morning but at 8:45 I was first in line! After I voted I took Joel to school and got my free Starbucks tall coffee.
Who did I vote for? We use the Australian ballot here. I think that means that only the Australians know who we vote for? Is that right? Perhaps they should be employed in counting the votes to reduce fraud. The Death Of

The Solomon Report

November 04, 2008
Solomon is seemingly fine.. actually better than last week. He is going for long walks (we just came back from one), eating his dinner and enjoying special treatment. Yesterday I let him lie down in my flowerbed in the sun!

The vet visit yesterday was promising. Our vet is getting us a consult with an oncologist to see if there is anything we can do for the poor dog that won't kill him. His left eye has begun to bother him because of the left nasal passage blockage.

Day of the Dead

November 01, 2008
We have so much fun at the weekend that it is not surprising that we have such a hard time adjusting to the week! At the weekend Joel gets his fill of Aaron and during the week he runs on a deficit. We all love Day of the Dead Altars, bright colors, food and festivities, but what Joel appreciates most is playing, wrestling, teasing, tricking Daddy.

Trick or treat!

October 31, 2008
Trick or treat? We will find out on November 5!
For the first year we went trick or treating in our own neighborhood.
Jill, Matt and Mira showed us the lay of the land.
Mira's poodle tail wiggled behind her wherever she went.

Bat mommy and Bat mummy
Joel and Mira found it easy to get along when there were an overabundance of resources.

After gathering the candy we headed to Sarah and Pete's for an adult gathering.

July 03, 2008
Here is the 2008-2009 steering team:

Nicole & Karla -- hospitality
Linda -- prayer & care
Krista -- finance

Here are some faces of our steering team as we planned away at Dawn's house. Some steering members were absent as they were on vacation.

Karla and Tracy, the creative thinkers

Dawn, our humble coordinator, leading from the floor with Krista, our financial guru next to her.

The motley crew. We won't look like this for most of the MOPS year because those tans will fade... Our enthusiasm will not fade though! Never you fear!
