We can replace stress with joy and presence in our lives. How do you cultivate peace in your garden? 🌱💚
Yesterday I spent some time gardening at Dr. Cho's office. I cleared away a lot of weeds and planted some snow on the mountain where those pesky weeds were. I've found that the best way to deal with weeds is to replace them with something different. A weed is just a name you give a plant you don't want in your garden! I plan to return to Dr. Cho's dentist's office later this week to finish up the work. July is always a busy month for gardening, especially with the heat, and this year feels particularly hectic because it has rained every day. Everything is growing so quickly! The soil at the Dr. Cho's office is incredibly fertile; it’s rich and faces south, soaking up the sun all day long.
I can't help but reflect on the metaphor of pulling weeds and planting "snow on the mountain." It resonates deeply with me. Just like in gardening, I realize that I can't simply remove stress from my life; I need to replace it with care, presence, or joy. My time spent gardening reminds me that both growth and peace are achievable.
