Garden Party

July 17, 2025

Good morning! My neck hurts this morning, and I also feel nauseous. Is it because I drank alcohol at the party yesterday, or is it because I spent all day outside in the sun? Is it because one of the dips I ate from had something in it that I am not supposed to eat? Who knows, but I feel crappy.

The party yesterday was great. Present were Stacie, Stacy H, Lina, Tanya, Amanda, Judy, Tessa, Peanut, Eileen, and my flowers. Judy brought her bird craft to do, which everyone loved. In the first picture below, everyone who knows each other is shown. The second one has everyone.

I wish I didn’t feel so nauseated this morning so I could write more.

I really enjoyed having my friends here and just relaxed, let go, and enjoyed their company. Dissolution of self is what I felt. I spent the morning getting ready and the evening cleaning up and gardening. I finished clearing the area under the evergreen in the front, making my mowing area smaller for today!

I took Peanut for a walk, talked to Eric on the phone, and watched Orange is the New Black.

All good except the nausea.

Peanut is worn out, too. He watched me cook the food and how the smells drew people to our house, and he observed in glee as they filtered in through the garden gate. He sat first for a long time on Amanda's knee and then switched back and forth between Tanya and Judy. Oh, the knees! What a great time!

July 1st

July 01, 2025

Speaking of gardening, I moved some more plants into the new gardens I am making, but I have more work to do. Yesterday, I spent a lot of time pruning. I also moved some pink day lilies to the front pathway area where they can get more sunlight. I put mulch around the tall evergreen in the front where I have removed the plants. I have to do that also around the west side of the tree. It is quite a production, but it will be nice in the end. Then I have to do the same thing with the Korean fir. I am removing all the plants inside the drip line. I either need a chainsaw or a man with a chainsaw. I decided to get just the chainsaw. The chainsaw arrives today, and I can use it to chop up the logs in the backyard and organize them neatly for firewood. Then I can plant flowers where the logs were cluttering up the flower bed. Pretty happy about this idea.

I am super glad it is raining because several of my plants really needed it.
