Grandma Hunting

Grandma lured Joel into her trap with toys and then took some anthropologically significant photo documentation. Admittedly, I did conspire with her

Behest

I want to know why people keeping on  sending me emails asking me to look after oodles of money for them.  They are as bad as the penis enlargement emails I used to get when I used AOL.

Life on the Rock

Good times at our MOPS meetings

Here's us doing our spring craft:

St. Emma

Written and researched by Margaret Odrowaz-Sypniewski St. Emma's feast day is June 29th. Emma was the benefactress of the poor. Emma was a young girl in the late 10th century in Germany. She lived in the court of Emperor Henry II and his wife Cunegunde, daughter of Sigfrid, 1st Count of Luxembourg. Cunegunde was barren, because she had made a vow of celibacy before her marriage, so she had time to train Emma and arranged her marriage to William of Friesach, a wealthy count. William and Emma had two sons. However, both of Emma's sons were murdered by their father's mine workers. The mine workers were angry at their family because of the poor working conditions in the mines. So they decided to kill the sons as payment for their mistreatment of workers. William had put his sons in charge. It is unknown whether conditions were better under William's control. However, William was so angered by the murder of his sons, that he wanted to execute the rebels and their familie

Outside MOPS

kids at play

I wouldn't have thought it possible but I think that my son might enjoy MOPS as much as I do! This is our fifthyear and he really knows his MOPS friends well (maybe we should be put into age groups so we are with the same people every year ! j.k.)  Here are pictures of our kids doing what they do while we do what we do.

Easter Nests

This recipe makes perfect nests for Easter chicks! Melt 1/2 cup of butter in a saucepan. Add 1 cup of brown sugar. Boil and stir for one minute. Add a 3-ounce can of chow mein noodles. Put the mixture in 12 paper baking cups in a muffin tin. Use your thumb to press noodles tin a nest shape while still warm. Do not bake. Allow nests to cool. Give jelly beans to children to place in the centers of their nests.

2009 couple's dinner: "Food around the World"

January 30 was a great night out. Our speakers, Marianne and Andy Miller, were both insightful and hilarious. The food was delicious and it was fun to have some testosterone in our MOPS room! Every couple will brought a dish to share based on this year's theme "Food around the World" THANK YOU JOSIE FOR ORGANIZING EVERYTHING!

Oh I do like to be beside the Shoreham-by-sea - side with Sera

The madness continues! I had a much anticipated reunion with Sera and Aaron got to meet everyone. I saw Barry, Sera's dad for the first time since 1985. I think the last time I saw him was in South Africa, where Sera and I clapped eyes on each other for the first time. We got off the train at the Shoreham-by-sea and I looked for my only landmark - the sweet shop I had been to last time I saw Sera 10 years ago! I got a bit confused on the way to her house (it being 10 years since the last sighting and all) so we asked the lollipop man. He said he had never heard of Sera's street. It turned out later that he was the lollipop man for the school at which Sera teaches! We caught up and Sera's and then went to THE COTTAGE for dinner. I meant to take pictures of our food, but forgot just as I forgot nearly every other day we were in England. I had fish and chips. Aaron had steak and ale pie and chips. I don't remember what Joel had. Here are the pics; M
