What we want

Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way

one of my favorites: Time (Mason, Waters, Wright, Gilmour) 7:06 Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way. Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town Waiting for someone or something to show you the way. Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain. You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today. And then one day you find ten years have got behind you. No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun. So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking Racing around to come up behind you again. The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older, Shorter of breath and one day closer to death. Every year is getting shorter never seem to find the time. Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way The time is gone, the song is over, Thought I'd something more to say.

Classic Toad In The Hole

Ingredients  Serves: 4  • 1 cup plain flour • 1 teaspoon salt • 2 large eggs, preferably free range • 300ml water, milk or beer • a twist of black pepper • 2 tablespoons cooking oil or lard • 6-8 sausages of your choice Method Prep:15min  ›  Cook:45min  ›  Ready in:1hr  • Mix the flour and salt in a large bowl. Make a hollow in the centre and add the eggs. • Mix whilst gradually adding the liquid. Use a whisk to beat out any lumps of flour. • Leave the batter to stand, the longer you can leave it the better, I personally make my batter the night before and then leave in the fridge overnight. • Heat the oven to 428f (gas mark 7). Heat the lard or cooking oil in a high sided roasting tin, add the sausages and cook for 10 minutes. • Place the roasting tin over a high flame until the fat smokes (the pan and oil must be very hot), pour in the batter and return to the oven. Bake for 25 - 30 minutes and serve.

STRAWBERRY CREAM CHEESE COBBLER

heart emoticon  STRAWBERRY CREAM CHEESE COBBLER  heart emoticon   1 stick (1/2 cup) butter 1 egg, lightly beaten 1 cup milk 1 cup of all Purpose flour 1 cup sugar 2 Teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 quarts whole strawberries, washed and tops off 4 oz cream cheese, cut into small pieces. Preheat oven 350 degrees. melt butter and pour into 9 x 13 inch glass baking dish. in a small bowl mix together the egg,milk,flour,sugar,bakin g powder, and salt. Pour directly over the butter in the baking dish, but do not stir. Add the strawberries,arranging in a single layer as much as possible. Sprinkle cream cheese pieces over strawberries. Place in preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes or until top is golden brown and edges are bubbling. 

Egg and bacon pie

Ingredients For the filling • 1 tbsp oil • 8–10 rashers smoked streaky bacon • 9 eggs • 4 tbsp whole milk • salt and freshly ground black pepper For the pastry • 2 cups flour • good pinch of sea salt • 2/3 cup chilled butter, diced • 1  egg Preparation method • To make the filling, heat the oil in a large non-stick frying pan. • Cut the bacon rashers in half and fry over a medium heat for 4–5 minutes until the fat is golden and crisp, turning them once. • Remove the bacon from the heat and leave to cool. Place a sturdy baking tray in the oven and preheat to 375F • For the pastry, pulse the flour, salt and butter in a food processor until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. • Whisk the egg with a tablespoon of cold water and pour onto the flour and butter mixture with the motor running. Continue blending until the dough begins to form a ball. • Turn the pastry out onto a lightly floured board, knead quickly into a ball and cut in half. • Roll out one half

Roast Potatoes

Roast Potatoes Ingredients 1kg Maris Piper potato 100g duck or goose fat fat (for a luxurious taste), or 100ml/3½fl oz olive oil 2 tsp flour Maldon salt, to serve Tip Crispy spuds To get really crispy roast potatoes, make sure the fat or oil is really hot before you add the potatoes.  Method • Put a roasting tin in the oven (one big enough to take the potatoes in a single layer) and heat oven to 200C/fan 400F 180C/gas 6. Peel the potatoes and cut each into 4 even-sized pieces if they are medium size, 2-3 if smaller (5cm pieces). Drop the potatoes into a large pan and pour in enough water to barely cover them. Add salt, then wait for the water to boil. As soon as the water reaches a full rolling boil, lower the heat, put your timer on and simmer the potatoes uncovered, reasonably vigorously, for 2 mins. Meanwhile, put your choice of fat into the hot roasting tin and heat it in the oven for a few mins, so it's really hot. • Drain the potatoe

What are the signs of being discarded by a narcissist
