Joel's finally gone off the deep-end

J oel went off the 300ft high (or so it seemed to me) diving board at the rivi . He and friend Sarah (daughter of David Christoff) wandered out of my sight. I found him scaling the ladder of the tallest diving board at the pool. Sarah dove gracefully, the it was Joel's turn. Joel walked to the end of the diving board and froze. Then he freaked out. The life guard told him to turn around and go back which alarmed him more. IN the end, What made him finally jump was a wasp who came to see what all the noise about. The kids watching clapped. Then I to ld Joel I would get him an ice cream and.... the Rivi had run out of ice cream!

the speed of water rippling on a lake in a calm breeze

Last day of summer for Joel. We did everything at Joel's speed. (the speed of water rippling on a lake in a calm breeze). We watched dogs be groomed at petsmart, lunch at Panera Bread, school lunch shopping at Trader Joes' swimming at the Rivi and then dinner at the Cheesecake factory.

Summer reading

Getting away with it by Julie Cohen  Every Boy's got one by Meg Cabot  Flirting in Cards by Alisa Kwitney  Sushi for Beginners, Marian Keyes - well written book about 30 somethings in Ireland  Poetry speaks : who I am /by Paschen, Elise.  Entrez Nous, Debra Olivier- okay , but I imagine that a Francophile would love it.  The lost Guide to Life and Love, Sharon Griffiths – a woman explores her roots by accident. Takes place in England  The Anti-Romantic Child, a story of unexpected Joy, Priscilla Gilman. - memoir of a mother with an autistic child.  Miss Scarlet's school of patternless sewing : a crafty chica novel /by Cano-Murillo, Kathy.  Merde Happens by Stephen Clarke. An Englishman travelling the US with his French girlfriend in his mini.  The book thief /by Zusak, Markus.  The accidental time traveller, Sharon Griffiths. I LOVE time travel books - the mind boggling match ups. Character development could be better but for 300 pages this was not a bad read! My
